1680 Robert Morden
In 1680 Robert Morden designates the area as
“Manskin I.” He names all the other rivers with an Indian name but only this one example with an “I.”
“I.” Is also used to designate “Isle “
“I. of Wight” for Isle of Wight.
This absolutely locates the Manskin on the Island field which was previously know as “Guttins Isle.”
He names the Penninsula the “Pimaomack.”
Pamunkey Pininsula is shown as “Pimaonack.” This is similar to John Smiths description of Pamunky Country in “General Historie”
